The New Jersey Pathways to Career Opportunities program is inviting businesses, labor unions, educators and other workforce development stakeholders to take part in its next Technology and Innovation Collaborative meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

This in-person event is part of a series of collaborative gatherings to develop education and workforce training solutions for New Jersey’s technology and innovation sector. The three- hour event begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Votta Hall at Rowan College at Burlington County, located at 900 College Circle in Mount Laurel Township.

The NJ Pathways initiative was launched in late 2021 by New Jersey’s community colleges and the New Jersey Business & Industry Association to year to better align the state’s educational system to build an innovative workforce. The NJ Pathways initiative is led by Collaboratives focused on four industries that are the foundation of the state’s economy:

  • Health Services
  • Technology and Innovation
  • Infrastructure and Energy
  • Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management

The Collaboratives are supported by 10 Centers of Workforce Innovation that include education and training partners. All of New Jersey’s 18 community colleges, as well as high schools, four-year colleges and universities, and community-based training providers across the state are involved to align and improve existing curricula to prioritize industry-valued credentials and development of transfer agreements.

Stakeholders at these meeting working to set successful career pathways for students and workers include businesses, industry associations, chambers of commerce, labor unions, workforce development boards, state government, community-based organizations, adult literacy training providers, vocational technical school districts, private career schools, county colleges, and four-year colleges and universities.
