NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka and New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) CEO John Kennedy will join various New Jersey manufacturers on Thursday for NJ101.5’s “Made in New Jersey” program highlighting products invented in the Garden State.

NJ101.5’s Eric Scott will host the live program at 7 p.m., Nov. 17. The program can also be accessed via nj1015.com, streamed on Facebook.com/NJ1015, the New Jersey  101.5 YouTube channel or on the free New Jersey 101.5 app.

“New Jersey manufacturers have figured prominently throughout America’s history, but many are now struggling,” Scott said, adding that many iconic consumer brands Americans know and love were first made in the Garden State.

Today, New Jersey manufacturers continue to be challenged by high taxes and labor shortages that make it expensive for many of them to produce goods in the Garden State. Siekerka will talk about NJBIA-led initiatives to bolster manufacturing in the state.

Other panelists on the program include the leaders of various New Jersey manufacturing businesses, including Ellen Pietowitz-Phillips, president of L-E-M Precision Fabrication in Fairfield, a longtime NJBIA member company.
