Innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs who want to see their research change the world are urged to participate in virtual events taking place now during America’s Seed Fund Week, hosted by the Small Business Administration, federal agencies and entrepreneur support organizations.

This virtual collaborative outreach effort connects entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them to the country’s largest source of early-stage funding – the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, which provide over $4 billion in funding to small businesses each year in a wide variety of technology areas.

Participants can hear directly from participating federal agency program managers that administer over 7,000 new awards annually, as well as engage with program decision-makers.

Through the SBIR/STTR programs, America’s Seed Fund’s mission is to support scientific excellence and technological innovation by investing federal funds in critical priorities to build a strong national economy. These programs represent the nation’s largest source of early-stage research and development (R&D) funding for small businesses.

SBA coordinates the programs by collaborating with 11 federal agencies that direct funding to U.S. small businesses with ideas that have the potential for commercialization, without taking equity or ownership in the businesses’ intellectual property.
