The priority that Americans rate as the biggest is no longer coronavirus.
It’s the economy.
A Pew Research Center study this week find that 71% of U.S. adults rated strengthening the economy as the biggest issue, followed by reducing healthcare costs (61%) and addressing coronavirus (60%).
In last year’s survey, the economy and coronavirus tied for the top spot.
With inflation at a four-year high, most Americans listed prices for food and consumer goods (89%), gas prices (82%) and the cost of housing (79%) as worse than a year ago.
Only 28% rated economic conditions as excellent or good.
