Boston Consulting Group Report Shows Private-Public Research Consortia Fundamental to U.S. Competitiveness The State Science & Technology Institute (SSTI) reports that, while the United States remains the global leader in overall research and development (R&D) spending, China has surpassed the U.S. in later-stage technological investments, according to a new report by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). At its current rate of growth, China’s investment in later-stage R&D could double that of the U.S. by 2018, the authors find. Their analysis suggests that there is significant potential for the U.S to get more out of its R&D by strengthening the relationships between industry and research institutions.

Nandakumar, an NJIT graduate student in electrical engineering, has won a coveted IBM Ph.D. fellowship to support his work on computer systems that mimic the architecture of the human brain. Monmouth University Recognized by EPA as Top Green Power User in Metro Atlantic Conference in 2016-2017 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)has recognized Monmouth University as an Individual Conference Champion of the 2016-17 College & University Green Power Challenge for using more green power than any other school in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Green power is zero-emissions electricity generated from environmentally preferable renewable resources, such as wind, solar, geothermal, eligible biogas, biomass, and low-impact hydro.
