The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) in partnership with Valley Bank is seeking volunteers to work at the 2023 Cognizant Founders Cup next month when golf’s best professional players return to New Jersey to compete at the historic Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton.

As part of the Valley Bank volunteer program, golf fans, local residents and supporters of women’s golf are urged to visit the volunteer registration page to serve as volunteers throughout tournament week, May 10-14. Volunteers are needed to assist with all aspects of tournament operations, in both on-course and behind-the-scenes capacities.

Golf fans who purchase an LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup Volunteer Package, which covers the cost of uniforms and meals, receive an up-close-and-personal experience for a world-class professional golf tournament operation. As an integral part of the LPGA team, volunteers serve as the conduit between the players, spectators, event operations and media covering the tournament, delivering relevant information while providing important tournament services.

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Valley Bank as sponsor of the volunteer program, which is a centerpiece of the operations at the Cognizant Founders Cup,” said Tournament Director Scott Wood. “They are a strong supporter of the game, and women in business, and their commitment to this event greatly helps our mission to continue engaging, empowering, and supporting girls and women through this great sport.”

Teaneck-based Cognizant, one of the world’s leading professional technology and consulting services companies, is the Title Sponsor for the 2023 Cognizant Founders Cup. The event is focused on engaging and empowering women in sports and business and celebrates the LPGA’s heritage by paying tribute to the 13 founding members of the LPGA.

A fun-filled week of family entertainment awaits fans of all ages, as the greatest professional golfers in the world compete in one of the most prestigious tournaments on the LPGA calendar. Among the event’s beneficiaries is LPGA USGA Girls Golf, a nonprofit junior golf program that positively impacts over 100,000 girls who are learning and loving the game.

Fans attending the Cognizant Founders Cup can enjoy Pro-Am day on May 10, when professional and amateur golfers compete. Tournament rounds will take place from May 11 through May 14. A full lineup of interactive events, including complimentary lessons from LPGA and PGA Professionals will take place throughout the week and over Mother’s Day weekend.

To purchase individual and week-long ticket packages along with an assortment of hospitality options, golf fans can now visit www.thefounderslpga.com. General admission tickets, providing access to the tournament grounds any day Wednesday, May 10 through Sunday, May 14 are $45, with a weekly 5-day pass available for $125.

Hospitality packages begin at $100 per day, which includes access to on-course hospitality, a parking pass, continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, water, coffee, soft drinks, beer and wine. Juniors 17 and under receive free general admission, and active and retired members of the military can show their ID at the gate for access to a free grounds pass on that given day (guests not included). On May 10, all spectators receive free admission, courtesy of the New Jersey Golf Foundation, to watch the Pro-Am.

The Upper Montclair Country Club, a longtime NJBIA member, is one of only a few country clubs worldwide known to have hosted tournaments for all three professional golf tours, including the LPGA in 1979 & 1980, 1983 & 1984, and 2007-2009. Long considered one of New Jersey’s premier golf clubs, this legendary A.W. Tillinghast golf course design underwent a major renovation in the 1950s, directed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., transforming Upper Montclair Country Club into its present 27-hole Championship layout. The venue, which has hosted hundreds of the world’s best players over many decades, will challenge an elite field of LPGA TOUR golfers.
