Appearing on a NJ101.5 Town Hall on Thursday night, NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka said businesses continued to be stymied by an inability to effectively plan, due to continually changing targets or inconsistent restrictions set by the Murphy administration.

Siekerka told host Eric Scott that with warmer weather approaching, outdoor activities and festivals that bring tax dollars to businesses and communities are already in jeopardy of not being able to maximize their potential due to illogical restrictions.

“Today we have a limitation outside of 50 people for capacity,” Siekerka said. “If you’re standing in the middle of Bader Field in Atlantic City for example, versus a little pocket park in an urban setting, these rules need to be looked at right now to say what is it we’re going to allow for capacity for outdoor events over what square footage?

“We can’t have this one-size-fits-all – and that goes for indoor activities, as well. One-size-fits all simply does not work anymore. We need some more relief.”
