S. Justin Szawlewicz, MD,has been appointed Chair of Cardiology at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, a teaching hospital in Browns Mills that specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, research, and treatment of heart, lung, and vascular diseases.
Dr. Szawlewicz has served as an attending cardiologist at Deborah since 2010 and as assistant vice president of Medical Affairs since 2015.
Board-certified in cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology, Dr. Szawlewicz earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the UMDNJ–Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine at Cooper University Hospital.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Szawlewicz holds numerous leadership positions at Deborah, including medical director of Cardiac Rehab and assistant director of the Echocardiography Lab. Dr. Szawlewicz’s specialty medical interests include preventive cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
