A recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court would prevent a piecemeal appeals process that would drag out class action lawsuits, according to an analysis by the National Association of Manufacturers.

Patrick Forrest, NAM’s vice president and deputy general counsel, explains that a June 12 ruling in Microsoft v. Baker is a victory for manufacturers because it prevents a maneuver that would allow plaintiffs to create a final judgment by dismissing their claims with prejudice.
