The New Jersey Business & Industry Association is launching a new Human Resource Council to provide NJBIA members information to best make sound, legal and cost-effective personnel decisions in these dynamic times.
NJBIA’s inaugural HR Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 11:30 a.m., with Doug Diaz, Esq. of Archer Law discussing the proper way to mandate a vaccine in your employee handbook and Dr. Margaret Fisher, special advisor to the state health commissioner, providing a COVID-19 vaccine briefing.

“Discussions and information regarding HR consistently rank as the most requested by our members, especially in the ever-changing world of COVID-19,” said NJBIA Chief Member Strategy Officer Betty Boros. “We are thrilled to add the HR Council to our great stable of informative NJBIA Councils and we welcome our members to take full advantage of what they all have to offer.”
Last year, NJBIA established its Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Council and the Not-for-Profit Council to provide new opportunities for NJBIA members to convene on timely and relevant issues that will help them achieve business success. They joined NJBIA’s Women Business Leaders Council, which was established in 2016.
The D&I Council has been a well-attended forum, with business leaders and thought leaders from all backgrounds and industries discussing strategizes on successful and impactful D&I practices.
The first D&I Council meeting of the year, “Disability and Diversity Inclusion for Equity,” will take place on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. The event features Hetal and Nish Parikh, co-founders of Rangam Consultants, Inc. Interested NJBIA members can register here.
The Not-for-Profit Council includes leaders in this sector from across the state who gather at quarterly meetings to share best practices and resources for collaboration that support their missions and enhance the opportunities for this critical sector.
The first Not-for-Profit Council meeting, “Getting to YES….Understanding the Process,” will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. The event features Foundation Operations Managing Director Priti Mehta and Investors Bank Foundation Executive Director and Secretary Rodger Herrigel. NJBIA’s Women Business Leaders (WBL) Council started more than five years ago to advance the next generation of women executives. The WBL Council provides opportunities for skill building and the exchange of information and ideas at events throughout the year. This includes the annual Women Business Leaders Forum, which annually draws 500 attendees to engage with industry executives on how women can advance in corporate leadership and the board room.
The first Women Business Leaders Council meeting of the year, “The Power of Influence,” featuring keynote speaker Donna Miller, will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 8:30 a.m. Members interested in attending the event can register here.
