New Jersey business needs to get out of its “stuck” mode as the state crushed the COVID-19 curve months ago, NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka said during a Propelify webinar called “Covid: The Monkey Wrench and the Catalyst” on Tuesday.
“The challenge is coming out of this,” Siekerka said. “We’ve crushed the curve, thank God, and we do give credit to the Governor for it. But I do have to say, at this point, we’ve hit a wall. The business community and our economy is suffering greatly.
“We need to pull that balance. When our health care numbers are in our favor, the economy should be going up. That’s the equilibrium. And unfortunately, we’re in this stuck mode right now. We need to find to continue to find ways to increase capacity for our businesses.”
