Investors infused nearly $39 million into New Jersey’s innovation economy through the state’s Angel Investor Tax Credit Program during the first six months of 2018, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) announced. The investments add to the growing momentum of Gov. Phil Murphy’s strategy for bolstering the Garden State’s innovation ecosystem, which is the centerpiece of his vision for creating a stronger and fairer economy.
HMH calls Institute for Multiple Myeloma a Quantum Leap Forward
According to ROI-NJ, “Hackensack Meridian Health announced the opening of its Institute for Multiple Myeloma, in partnership with pharmaceutical company Celgene, at the new Interprofessional Health Sciences Campus in Clifton and Nutley, last week. The former Roche campus also is the site of the hospital’s new School of Medicine at Seton Hall University. The institute has been anticipated for some time and represents the health system’s latest move to compete on a national level.”

ACEA Awarded $120K for Aviation Strategy
The Atlantic County Economic Alliance has been awarded a $120,000 federal Rural Business Development Grant to create a detailed strategy for the development of the aviation district surrounding the Atlantic City International Airport, FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center and the National Aviation Research and Technology Park in Egg Harbor Township. The ACEA has been working for the passage of legislation to designate this area as a Garden State Growth Zone with competitive incentives for businesses that relocate within a one-mile radius of the airport.
